Up Close at UTSC

Fascinated by the original campus of University of Toronto Scarborough I took a visit to see recently. With the original John Andrew’s designed brutalist style main Arts & Sciences building still the centrepiece of the grounds there is so much more to see. The blend of old and new buildings is a mosaic of architectural styles. Each building is different and yet blends into this campus without conflict.

Being on the eastern edge of the city it is surrounded by suburban residential neighbourhoods and natural parks. It still is on the edge of a ravine landscape with beautiful open spaces and terraced levels. There is plenty of great architecture to observe and vast interior spaces to discover. It really is a modern University and is in contrast to the more historic University of Toronto main campus in downtown Toronto.
